LEBUH PANTAI (Beach Street),
situated within the core zone of
Georgetown Heritage city
is one of the early settlement street and main commercial centre
in Penang island. The buildings were constructed during the 19th and
20th centuries. The architectural design of the historical buildings
were resemblance of Art Deco and Neoclassical heritage style.
Restoration work have been on-going to maintain and preserve the
heritage commercial premises.
Beach Street is split into another section at the traffic light
junction of Lebuh Chulia. The section from the fire brigrade can
lead to the way to Lebuh Acheh, which is the gateway to the
UNESCO World Heritage Site in GeorgeTown city.
