Most of the sightseeing places and major shopping centres are within the public bus routes.  Some bus routes also cover Mainland Penang and takes you across Penang Bridge.

This is the longest bridge in South-East Asia, linking the Penang island to the mainland part of peninsula Malaysia. It is also very convenient to cross the sea waters by ferry and return via Penang Bridge.
