CHEONG FATT TZE MANSION

A famous mansion which had been filmed in movies and television, formerly home of tycoon Cheong Fatt Tze.  Located at No.14, Leith Street, where you can find a fusion of Oriental and Western architecture there. Was also awarded the '2000 Most Excellent Award of UNESCO Asia-Pacific for Cultural Conservation'. Guided tour is opens from 11.00 am - 3.00 pm

CLAN JETTIES ( WELD QUAY )

19th century clan jetties and home to the families of traders, fishermen and dock workers. These traditional houses here were built with wooden materials, standing on stilts at the sea front.
Also located near to the Penang Ferry terminal.
   

WAT CHAYAMANGKALARAM , Lorong Burma

A Thai Buddhist temple built in 1845, has one of the largest Reclining Buddha statues in the World, measuring

33 meters in length.  Opening Hours: 6.00 am - 5.30 pm

 

SWETTENHAM PIER, Pengkalan Weld
Once a busy trading port built in 1904. Have been redeveloped into a terminal to facilitate shipping and cruising passenger arrivals and departures.

 
 

BENGALLI MOSQUE

Founded in 1803;  Located at Leith Street for immigrants from Bengal and India

 

HAINAM TEMPLE, Muntri Street

A temple, founded 1866 and restored in 1995, to serve the Hainamese immigrants in the 19th century.


PENANG ART GALLERY

Penang Art Gallery was opened in 1964, a showcase for outstanding art production by both local and international artists.

P.RAMLEE's HOUSE

A traditonal Malay kampung-like house, conserved in memory of the late P.Ramlee who was a pioneer in acting, composing, singing and film directing

SUFFOLK HOUSE

Mansion built in 1788's by Captain Francis Light, featuring authentic Anglo-Indian architecture. An upscale restaurant now.   Restaurant Reservation: 604 - 2283930
